Rock On!!
So I happened to go to see movie in Urvashi Theater yesterday.I went to see 'Rock On'.
When I was in Mumbai, watching movies was like a bane for me.I dont know why but I dont like watching movies. But after coming to Bangalore and joining B School, suddenly things have changed.Last week I saw Ram Gopal Varma's 'Phoonk' and this week I saw Rock On. What actually happened is that 2 girls in our college wanted to see the movie. So they came to me and asked whether I can accompany them. Now, I like a good kid was exhilarated to know that girls(not one but two) want to go for movie with me.Later I came to know that they had asked other boys in class but no one was ready to go with them. Therefore they came to me coz I was their last resort.
We bunked our Statistics lecture and took Volvo bus from our College for Urvashi Theater. Also at that time 2 more girls joined. So 4 girls and me went along.Just before movie started N told that how last time I had passed comments all the time during movie and how she was pissed off. From one end all the girls, starting from R, proclaimed that if I did anything similar this time they will see to it that I will be sorry for it.Determination of four girls is enough to scare a good kind hearted guy like me(ahem ahem).
So movie started. The row just behind us was inhabited by people from stone age who used to yell at their top of lungs everytime they hear sound or see light. With illustrious consistency they see to it that their presence is felt all around the movie theater.
Now Rock On is a typical pot pouri movie with theme already expolited by movies like Jhankar Beats.Friends have band, they get seperated and then they come again. Now watching a predictable movie with bunch of girls who are glued to screen by keeping mouth shut can be a big pain.I tried hard but after an hour or so I dozed off.Next thing I know is that N was waking me up and remaining girls were staring at me with what-a-dumb-guy-he-is look. The guys in the row at my back continued yelling and making comments.I wished I was there enjoying movie with them.
After interval movie picked up pace. But it became more predictable. After that they used all the concepts of typical masala movie to raise the tempo and brought the movie to end.I heaved a sigh of relief.
Chalo...ab ghar chalein.
