BEST is best.

After so many days I traveled in local train. I had to go to visit my brother in law who was admitted in hospital in lower Parel. Since I have arrived in Mumbai I am avoiding local trains. Its not that I am scared away by Terrorist acts in it…it’s just that I don’t want to travel in now-too-crowded trains. BEST buses are the best. Now by BEST I don’t mean they are best, it’s the name of Mumbai bus Transport Corporation. BEST is acronym for (Bombay Electric Supply and Transport) and it BEST is pronounced as beastee. BEST buses have one of the most well managed networks of buses which cover each and every corner of Mumbai. As much as I have traveled Mumbai has best transport system with Local Trains and BEST buses.

Day by day population of Mumbai is increasing exponentially. The effect of rise in population can be seen on public transportation system. Previously buses and trains were crowded only during office hours, but now they are crowded all the time. Most of the offices in Mumbai have altered their timings to prevent rush hours. Roads and Signals are jammed all the time now.

Mumbai desperately needs Metro. Construction of Metro will start in Mumbai from October 2006 and first phase of metro project will complete in year 2008.

Lets hope we have a hassle free transportation in near future.

Phew..........

Post after a long time.

After the Mumbai blasts I was not in a position to think or do anything. When the blasts took place I was in meeting in Andheri. Our meeting was stopped in between due to this and we were told to go home as soon as possible. One of my friend gave me lift upto Malad. While passing through Jogeshwari I saw people taking the injured to hospital.I had never seen so much blood in life.People who were taking injured and dead people were fully soaked in blood.

I reached home late at night.I wish I would have not seen injured and dead people.I was in disturbed state for two days.
I think already too much have been writtten about this.........

From 3-4 days blogspot has been blocked by all ISPs of India. Therefore I was not able to access my(and other) blogs.Today morning in Economic Times I read that we can access blogspot tharough www.pkblogs.com .And it really works.I saw my blog after a long time.

I thank all my friends for mailing or messaging me after blasts.By god's grace I survived.

My condolences are with the people who lost their near and dear ones.

At home

For the past 3 days I have not stepped out of home. Courtesy… non stop torrential Mumbai rains. I like rains but hate it when it rains too much. I hate to walk on road with puddles and pot holes. You have to be very careful while walking on road during this season. There are few morons who love to drive and splash good puddle water on you making beautiful brown pattern on your clean clothes.
Recently we had renovated our house. I don’t know what stuck my dad that he decided to put stone tiles all over our hall. He found it very innovative. Now our home does not seem to be a decent flat, but a cave of Stone Age man. My dad loves thing which are old or reminds him of something old. These days he is bugging me a lot to wear Kurta and Pajama at home instead of Shorts and T Shirt.
Last Sunday I saw a person hanging on rope and applying paint on outside wall of our building. The first thought that came to mind was that has our building chairman lost his brain that he is spending lot of money to apply paint in middle of monsoon season. I was later enlightened by my mom that its not Paint but waterproof coating which has to be applied all over outside walls of building to prevent water seeping in walls.

This pic of painter I took from my window.

After 2 days of heavy rains the water proof coating proved to be useless. There are wet spots on wall in our flat.
On 26th July 2005 there was flood like situation in Mumbai. In fact there was full fledged flood where water came up to level of waist on roads. Thank god I was in Delhi at that time. Just few minutes back I saw outside my window that same havoc is about to be created by rains. It’s raining non stop for 3 days. Mumbai municipality has been caught with its pants down again.
Hope 26 July is not repeated again.
