Dandiya

Dandiya season is over and now I am back to work and studies. On the last day of Garbha I dared to play dandiya with small kids of my society. While I was dancing with them I saw one kid was a bit scared and was hitting with dandiya stick very slow.In dandiya u dance in circles and the pair with whom ur are dancing keeps on changing. So when the turn of this kid came to dance with me I told him not to fear,be cheerful and hit hard with dandiya stick. My words rejuvenated him and with all his power and might he raised his hand to hit on my dandiya with his stcik. In the excitement his hand lost his direction a bit and he hit hardly on my fingers......rest is the history.
For 2 days I wasnt able to write anything and wasnt able to use my hand to eat food.

One of the days of Navratri I went to Goregaon Sports Complex where my hostel friends were supposed to come.I had not met them for a long time.So myself and Amardeep went there.See my college champaks in traditional gujrati costumes.

GMAT...CAT!!! God save me!!!

My preparation for CAT is not up to mark. God knows what percentile I will get. I have been very busy these days with my teaching assignments and finishing the remaining work in my current company which I am about to leave. The teaching part is pretty nice. I love to teach, preach and bore people and now I am doing the same. Best part is I am also been paid for it!! In my first lecture of GMAT I was a bit nervous. Half of the class was older than me in age and remaining ones were of my age group (but not younger). So here was Mr Abhishek teaching mathematics to people who were having 5 to 10 years of work experience and planning to study abroad. Class was good. Students were initially confused about Mathematics and Gmat….and now they are more confused; thanks to my teaching 

On Saturday I took my class and arrived late at home. Next day was my SimCAT (this is what IMS calls to their mock test series of CAT) test in Kandivali. Instead of preparing for it, I went straight for bed. This test was in a college in Thakur complex and I was supposed to report there at 9.00AM. I had missed first test and this was the second test which I was going to give.
Since I have never been to this place I called my friend Shreenath(who has also taken admission for same test series) and told him that we can go together to kandivali. I asked him time when can he meet me at Malad station from where we can go there. He told that he will be coming to Malad station at 9.15AM. Reporting time at test centre was 9.AM and this guy will come to Malad station at 9.15. It takes half an hour from Malad station to reach Thakur complex in Kandivali. He told that he always goes this late for test ie. Late by more almost an hour! Shreenath has a reputation of being a carefree and cool guy. So this was not shocking for me. Later I came to know why he did that.
I reached Thakur complex and searched for the college where the exam was supposed to be held. They allowed us to enter the class room at 9.00AM. Before entering the class they gave us a chit on which classroom and seat no. for the test was given. I read my seat number and was happy to see that it was [un]lucky 13.

Ane ways like a good test-giver I went straight to my class and sat on my seat waiting for the test to start. Slowly students started entering room sporting their stylish clothes. Most of them came with heavy bag. After coming to their seat the removed heavy CAT books, kept it on the table, glanced across the room and then went outside in the lobby. Outside class room I can see students chatting, roaming, and laughing around. It seemed as if they have gathered here for a school reunion or protesting another govt reservation policy. No one looked as if they have come here to give test. I sat on my seat waiting for the invigilator to come and start test.
Now its 9.30 but there’s no test like atmosphere around. Bored sitting I came out of my room and saw that everyone is just having a sort of get together here. Then I saw someone called me from back. It was my friend who was with me in my tutions at Kalrashukla Classes when I was in 12th standard. We were not in contact for a long time. After a gap of 6 years we met. After exchanging pleasantries and the usual where-you-work, where-were-you and other stuff I asked him when the test will start. He told it will start in may be 1 hour (it was 10AM at that time) at that time. I told him that reporting time was 9.00AM then why this late. He told that it happens all the time. Test starts by 11.00 AM. Then I realised why Shreenath used to come this late. I came back to my class and sat on my seat. In corner of the room group of 5 to 6 girls were giggling and discussing some show on VH1 which they had seen last night…all with open CAT books in their hands. Near to them is group of boys in T Shirts, Jeans, and Cap; eyeing these girls. I don’t understand why the hell people need to wear a cap when they are in classroom where there are no sun rays or heat. A guy with ‘I am a Geek’ written over his T Shirt cracked some joke on girls amongst themselves and all of them gave a Siddhu style laugh. They do this no matter how worst the joke is. All girls near to them gave ‘You guys suck’ kinda look. In middle of room was a girl with and open 500 pages book admiring her nail polish which her boyfriend must have gifted him….probably brought from local station’s platform. In front of me was a guy who was Nerd in real sense. From the time he has entered class room he is vigorously reading and mugging turning pages as if both his kidneys are at the stake in this exam.
At about 11.AM at last test started. After seeing the question paper I realised my 13 numbered seat was up to its reputation. Quantitative part was tough and I wasn’t able to attempt many questions from this section. I did like to inform my honourable blog readers that Quantitative Analysis is the subject which I teach to GMAT students. Verbal Section was also good.

By and large test was good. Today I will be getting scores for it….Nope I am not going to share my score with you coz anyone of readers has misconception that I am intelligent and hard working guy, then I want to maintain this image.

Ganpati Bappa Moryya

On 6th Sept festival of a Ganesh Chaturthi got over. This was the 11th day of the much awaited festival. People from all over the city came to beach to immerse the Idols(Visarjan) in sea. These are the Pics I took at 11.30PM . Its pretty late but even at this time the road is too crowded and people are praying, dancing and singing. My friend Amit called me late at night to come to see the festival. I brought along my camera and clicked photos of bigger Ganpatis.

Amit looks very happy seeing the festival

Jobless...

After 15 days I will be jobless. Cat is out. I got a call from my MD that company has decided to fire me.
Last 2 months have been very bad for my company. We have lost two of our clients and things are not going fine with our only remaining client in India. I had been receiving indications from my company that they expect me to put down my papers. I was trying hard to keep things in place and was hopeful that things will be fine after some time. But things got worse.

Our company deals in high end CRM and SFA (Sales Force Automation) software. The strategy followed by our company to get established in India was not good. My company is Australian. This is the first time they have dealt with Indian companies. It’s obvious that the way work is done in Australia and different parts of world is quite different than India. Indian market is just not mature to use the high end Software of the kind we make.
Any ways to cut the story short our company has decided to wind up operations in India and I will be jobless.

Right from beginning I had been confused about my career. I still don’t know what I should do. You can read it.here how confused I am. I have done job in all different kind of fields and was almost successful in my all jobs. This is the first time I have not been able to do my job in a better way.

I decided to search job on naukri.com. First thing I did was I made my resume and uploaded it on my profile on the web site. I applied for an institute that teaches and prepares students for aptitude tests like SAT,GMAT,GRE and just the next day I got call for an interview. Interview was good and now I will be teaching Maths and Data Interpretation to graduate students appearing for above mentioned exams.

After a week I will be seen inducing sleep in poor students of my class
