Cool !!

Its so cold here in Mumbai. Mercury has dropped too much and has broken many past records of winter season.By this time Mumbai normally returns to its hot, sweaty atmosphere but not this time.Entire North India is engulfed in cold wave.

On Saturday evening I got call from PS. She had called me after a long time. She asked if I can meet her at any Coffee shop. I was at home whole day and was aneways bored. So I told her to meet at Barista near a place called Mith Chowki. We sat there sipping hot Coffee and talking about friends, work and life.I told her that I have never seen snow.....to which she promised that she will take me one day at a place where theres snow. When we decided to leave at around 11PM, I was almost shivering.

Republic Day has arrived

Tommorow is 26th January. Republic day of India. So tomorrow there will be glorious march pass in New Delhi at Vijay Ghat.
Whole nation will be colored with Indian tricolor and nationalism will be at its peak. It will be at peak only for that day. Once show is over, everyone will be back to their own busy life.

Hmm…so I came across this news piece. Once again builder lobby has done away with rules and regulations. Once again a honest man has been made a victim. T Chandrasekhar is known as best person when it comes to Public Administration. Few years back as a mayor of Thane, he changed the face of the city. But unfortunately today he is removed from his post.

Aneways…it happens!!

Initially it was Vidarbha and some parts of Andhra Pradesh which were mired with issues of farmer deaths. There is new entry of Karnataka into it. Initially it was lobby of Sugar Mill Owners in Maharashtra who were responsible for suicide of many Farmers. Now even Government managed Sugar mills have joined that club.

God knows how many suicides it will take to wake up the government from its deep slumber.

Ok. Enough of serious talks.
Today while traveling in local train I didn’t have anything to read. So I purchased Mid-Day newspaper from vendor who was selling newspaper in train (a good marketing strategy). I had stopped reading Mid Day long back coz it had become just a advertisement newspaper. There is hardly news in it. I was happy to know that even after such a long time Mid Day has not improved. I feel as if my 3 Rs has been wasted.

In whole news paper there wasn’t news even worth of 3 paise.

Yeah. But I found this one good. Mallika Sherawat’s upcoming movie. Check the Poster of movie “Fauj mein Mauj” (roughly translates to ‘Fun in Army’).

Recession in US and Asia?

So American economy is slowly recovering from very low growth. The acceleration in exports had lead to 4.9% growth in GDP in July-Sept quarter . Hope this decreases probability of recession.
If recession happens in America, then will it have adverse effects on Asian economies? That is something to be looked for. Weak labour market, sub prime crisis, and weak consumer spending may be giving headaches to Fed chief Ben Bernanke.
If you go according to experts view, the slowdown or recession in US will lead to slowdown in China, which is major exporter of goods to US. Many asian countries, including India, supply goods to China which are later used to manufacture finished goods for US.So Asia is more likely to be hit by American slowdown.

But many Economists believe that it may not happen.Atleast thats what stockmarkets in India show. Indian stock markets had movements which were almost independent to that of Dow Jones and other international Indexes.

Narendra Modi has won!!

There has been lots of action in Indian Political scene these days. In Gujrat, Narendra Modi sweept the polls by winning 117 of 182 seats. His emphatic win was a huge blow to Congress and many political pundits who predicted his downfall.

This win is an eye opener for everyone. For Media, Politicians and Indians in general. If you have noticed, right from the beginning media, in general, was against Modi. In every talk shows, news reports, editorials etc he was branded as Communal, Extremist, Dictator, Fundamentalist etc etc. Hardly any one mentioned decrease in crime and the development work he had done during his five year tenure as CM of state of Gujrat. It seems Modi was confidant of his win and development work that he had executed. He rarely refuted or counter attacked media and opposition for mud slinging.

After the results were out, media still continued its diatribe against Modi. They told that Modi has won the elections only on anti-Muslim or pro-Hindutva wave. Though there is no denying that Modi being pro Hindu, has helped him but also you cant deny that he has brought Gujrat on development track with fast pace.

He is an astute,no-nonsense administrator who believes in taking development to the people at the bottom of society. In Saurashtra, strong hold of Patel's whose leaders vociferously opposed Modi, BJP won majority of seats. Many Patel farmers of the region voted for Modi even though many Patel leaders told not to do so.During tenure of Narendra Modi he sent water of Narmada to Saurashtra region. This water was a boon for many farmers. This water did wonders. After two years farmers of this entire region can actually experience development. Therefore it was not a tough job for Modi to tell them that he actually developed that region.

One thing is for sure.Modi has frustrated media as never before.
